About the role:
We are looking for a Conversation Designer who will own the design, development, training, and maintenance of Anya’s award–winning conversational chatbot.
As Conversation Designer, you will:
- Take ownership in designing conversational structures, dialogues, and flows for our proprietary chatbots.
- Liaise with Machine Learning Engineer to train and optimise language understanding models based on real user interactions
- Liaise with Anya’s clinical team to adapt clinical texts to our conversational use case, ensuring a smooth user experience and highest clinical safety
- Create engaging and informative content for Anya’s conversational agents, including prompts, responses, error messages, and help messages.
- Conduct usability testing and iterate on conversation designs based on user feedback and conversation analytics.
- Document conversation designs, guidelines, and best practices for internal teams and stakeholders.
- Develop and define user personas to inform dialogue design, ensuring that conversations resonate with target audiences.
- Consider ethical implications in conversation design, such as clinical safety, privacy, inclusivity, and fairness, and ensure designs adhere to ethical guidelines.
- Work closely with the product manager in an Agile development environment including sprint planning, user story prioritisation, task estimation, sprint implementation, and sprint review.
- Guide the relationship and process management of the clinical team and external experts. This includes organising expert workshops, clinical brainstorming, feedback sessions etc
Role requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience (UX) Design, Interaction Design, Cognitive Science, Linguistics, Computer Science, or related fields
- 2+ years of demonstrated experience in designing conversations for chatbots, voice assistants, virtual agents, or other conversational interfaces.
- Understanding of NLP (Natural Language Processing) concepts, including intent recognition, entity extraction, sentiment analysis, and language understanding models
- Experience with virtual agent platforms used for chatbot conversation design such as IBM Watson, DialogFlow or similar
- Strong writing and scripting skills to create engaging and natural-sounding dialogues for conversational agents
- Experience conducting usability testing and utilising analytics data to iterate on conversation designs and improve user experience
- Experienced with software agile development process; self-managing for creating and managing her own user stories, sprints, and those for the clinical teams and other team members
- Passion for making ethical and clinically safe AI algorithms, that will have a direct impact in improving people’s lives
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and consistency in conversation designs, including grammar, punctuation, and tone of voice
Desirable
- Programming experience, preferably in Python
- Experience with using Gemini, ChatGPT or any other LLM implementations
- Experience with prompt engineering
- Proven ability and experience to work in start-up, small/dynamic teams, and fast-paced environment with little direction and quick decision making
- Experience in the Health Tech or Digital Health sector
- Experience in Miro, Jira, Notion or similar
