We celebrated our 1st birthday!
We launched our first Android app on Google Play.
We rebranded to become Anya to serve parents better across 1,001 days of parenting.
We’ve reached 8,000 users in 99 countries worldwide.

LatchAid Lt. won the prestigious Q Exchange 2020 Award for “Embedding positive changes emerging through new collaborations or partnerships during COVID-19”.
This funding from The Health Foundation and NHS Improvement allows us to conduct a pilot with 12 NHS Trusts to prescribe the app as part of their infant feeding support.
We launched our second beta study in February and had 600 users.
Chen is a winner of the highly prestigious Innovate UK’s Women In Innovation Award (there were 749 applicants across the UK). We could not be more proud of her for this great recognition and achievement.
LatchAid Ltd. features in a number of articles, radio interviews and podcasts.
The app is now available worldwide on the App Store.
We featured on the BBC News website which saw a huge jump in our number of users and positive mentions.

LatchAid Ltd. ran its first beta study attracting users from ten countries across six continents.
We conducted a survey to measure the impact of COVID-19 on breastfeeding support in the UK. 706 new mums took part (79.3% had their babies during lockdown).
We won Innovate UK’s toughest COVID-19 rapid response competition (and its Extension for Impact grant) as well as securing the Innovate UK’s Sustainable Innovation Fund.
Chen left her role as a Computer Scientist and Visual Effect professional to focus on LatchAid Ltd. full-time.

Dr Ana Burman joined Chen on her mission to create a world-class breastfeeding support app.
Internationally-acclaimed infant feeding expert Shel Banks joined the Anya LatchAid team as the first of many healthcare specialists.
Anya LatchAid secured grant funding from the EU Regional Development Fund, UnLtd Do It Award, and Stephen Lloyds Award to design and develop the first version of the app.
Chen brought on a team of infant feeding experts.

Chen founded LatchAid and created a prototype app while on maternity leave with her second child.
Chen joined Cambridge Social Ventures, part of the Cambridge University Judge Business School, to develop entrepreneurship skills and establish the company.
LatchAid was incorporated as a company.
Over 100 mums, mums-to-be, and infant feeding experts from 6 countries took part in Anya LatchAid’s formal user study to further understand breastfeeding challenges and needs.
